Brownie Batter Waffles

A dryer, almost cookie like waffle, perfect for dipping into heavy whipping cream before devouring.

Directions

This recipe, as is, makes for a dry-ish and somewhat crumbly waffle; if you want it more moist, you could try adding another egg or maybe a bit of water.  As it is below, it works well for my mornings by dipping it into a bit of heavy whipping cream before devouring.  This waffle is not super sweet, but definitely shouts CHOCOLATE when you bite into it, due to then entire bar of unsweetened chocolate that it contains.

Steps

1
Done

In a medium sauce pan over low heat, stir together butter, chocolate, cocoa, sweetener, vanilla and sweetener until everything is melted and blended together. Stir constantly and note that it doesn't take long. Set aside to cool 5 minutes.

2
Done

In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, baking powder and salt.

3
Done

Add eggs to chocolate mixture and whisk to combine.

4
Done

Pour chocolate mixture into bowl with almond flour and mix well.

5
Done

Heat up your waffle iron. When ready, spray with non-stick spray and put a heaping TBLS of the mixture into the center of each well (I used a Belgian waffle maker). Cook until done.

6
Done

Once done, remove to a plate, sprinkle with powdered sugar (if desired) and fresh cream.
